It was the first instrument I formally learned how to play. I was the best player (according to my teacher, since she sent me to the camp where the good kids go) even among the more experienced ones. The embouchure is easy to maintain, but it takes getting used to. The more you practice, the easier it'll be. It gets very tiring at first. The fingerings are simple to remember, but it gets more complicated jumping from lower notes to the higher ones. If you do decide to go through with learning this, practice a LOT. Clarinets have a tendency to sound ugly when people don't practice enough. You'll be able to hear the difference in tone quality between those who do and don't practice. In your case, you will not find it easier to learn the clarinet. Not to say it's not worth a try though; you have to start from somewhere. It's not hard, but not everyone can do it. I started playing when I was your age, and still pull it out occasionally.
