What song should i learn to play on the keyboard?
Ahpro asked:
I have experience and i’m quite good. You might get an idea of my skill by watching me playing How to save a life by The Fray which I posted on youtube here:

But i want to learn the type of song where somebody could walk into a music shop and see someone playing the song and think “wow, how cool” so basically something that lots of people know (maybe a theme song to something or a famous song or something?).
Any ideas?

I play the keyboard aswell, I think the titanic would be good with accompaniment or maybe I wanna be a rockstar by nickel back!Choose your favorite song and work on it, it takes me 2 weeks to figure out the notes for a song!

Well, something that sounds really, really cool when an orchestra plays it is Aladdin. You would need to set your keyboard to a setting that is less piano-like and beautiful, because the song is sort of Arabian-sounding. My favorite song is “Friend Like Me”, but “Arabian Nights” is pretty cool, too. We are also playing “Pirates of the Carribean” in our orchestra, and that is pretty popular. “Will and Elizabeth” and “Swords Crossed” are fun ones to play. “The Phantom of the Opera” is another popular song, and it is very pretty, but sort of dangerous-sounding at times (in a good way). Any of these can work really well for you.
Hope these helped!

I actually think that the most impressive thing to play is a well known classical piece. There are simplified versions of things like Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata that are very available. These are beautiful and make just about anyone sound really good if you practice them — they’re impressive even though they aren’t pop, and everyone knows them (even if you don’t know classical music, they’re in movies and such)
