well, youtube is one option, (they have some tutorials for specific techniques) but if you are looking to get serious, I would consider a site like or GuitarTricks.com. WARNING: you might have to spend some money on these sites.

Honestly, as a music teacher, even a few lessons at the beginning are a good idea. You want to make sure you’re holding the guitar properly, etc… or else you can actually do damage to your hands and wrists (tendonitis etc…). It’s something to take into consideration, anyhow.

Try searching tutorials on youtube. That’s how I learned a few piano songs! =]

I think the easiest and more fun way to do it is to get a song book, then a chord chart.. you can print one online
do the basic chords first like e,a,d,g,b with your fingers, then try to strum it until all the strings are making clear sounds(it means your pressing them properly), when your already confident in that try to switch between chords slowly as fast as you can.. like a-d, then d-g. anyone can play guitar really, it all comes down to how bad you want to learn it.. practice makes so much difference, and in the process youll develop much more powerful fingers, and it will be a lot easier
so try to do strums first.. its always fun to strum
but the best way to learn guitar is if you have a friend who knows how to play, or is starting to play as well.. that way you exchange guitar pieces of music, and competition always makes you want to be better
goodluck :]
