In all reality, it’s probably easier than anything else if you have any understanding of music at all…
You pluck the string, and as long as it’s in tune, the correct note comes out
now, it’s not necessarily easy to get really good, but it’s not easy to get really good at anything, it takes time and patience…
But, of all of the instruments you could choose, guitar is probably one of the easiest to start learning

Its rather easy. You just need to start with the mechanics and how a guitar works. My advice is to learn on an acoustic first. Its easier to transition to electric from acoustic than vice versa. Then just get a book on notes and start strumming. The only way is to practice. There is nothing else anyone can tell you that will really help except to practice. All the strumming techniques and what not come along with practice. So just get a good guitar and start strumming.

It’s easy and can be hard. Depends on you and your willingness to learn. I learned, self taught, ten years ago. You’ll learn fine and you’ll need it. Depending on your mos you’ll have A LOT of down time.
