Hi, I'm in the same situation but i'm not getting much help so i shall spread my knowledge.

Ifyou want easy guitar Power Chords aim to learn songs by bands where the singer, plays guitar. Such bands like Green Day and Sum 41 are easy because its so hard to sing and play at the same time, they have to play easy songs so they can do both. The first song I ever learned on the Guitar is Before I Forget by SlipKnoT. (Best Band EVER btw:)

Other very simple songs are Sweet Dreams by Marilyn Manson (Has a very kick start solo)
Liberate by SlipKnoT
Nymphetamine (Slightly hard) by Cradle Of Filth
Animal I have Become by Three Days Grace
Coma White by Marilyn Manson

all these metal songs are easy to slightly advanced. the easiest metal band ive ever heard is Marilyn Manson, all his songs are easy to play and learn and very fun to minipulate. Have fun playing. ROCK ON!

                                           \m/ (-.-) \m/

"blackbird" by the beatles is always a great one it's so pretty and it's not too hard.
and "paint it. black" is pretty easy because it's so repetitive.
My favorite one, once you get a little better is "Over the hills and far away" by led zeppelin
Good Luck!

Collide by Howie Day.
First song I learned.

Just listen to your iPod. Find a song you want to learn, search "(name of song) Tab" on Google and see if the chords are ones you know how to play. Even if you don't, most tab websites have it so that you can put your curser over the chord and it shows you where to put your fingers on the strings. Pretty sweet. I'm teaching myself guitar and must say that I am very thankful for the chord help.

I did the same thing. Heard a song on my iPod, searched for it, looked to see if I knew the chords or if I would be able to play them and then yeah.

Have fun!

The first song that I ever learned how to play was smoke on the water.
Check out ultimate-guitar.com. They have a lot of tabs that you can look through and best of all it is free.

Answer mine por favor.

"Hey Joe" by Jimi Hendrix is great, 'cause it uses the 5 basic chord shapes (C G D A E), it sounds cool, and hey, it's Jimi Hendrix. Good tabs are at.
